Why preserving the Constitution is first and foremost in my agenda this election

I just saw the movie ‘The End of America‘ and it is chilling in it’s observation of how this country is having it’s civil rights and civil liberties eroded.  The good thing about this movie however is that it isn’t too late for the American people to take a stand and reverse the damage to the Constitution that has already been done.

It turns out that there is actually a blueprint to take a society from an open society with civil rights to a closed society.  It has been used by societies like Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia and Fascist Italy.  They all did the same things to close down their society.  We can see the aftereffects of what occurred.  We see what happens to a society when everyone’s liberties have been stripped away.  We see what happens when we as the people forget the the Government is there at OUR will and not the other way around.

The alarming part is that these same steps are currently being implemented in our country today.  Each one of these steps grossly violates the Constitution.  What are these steps?  They are:

  1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy.  (War on Terror)
  2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place.  (Guantanamo)
  3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens. (Blackwater)
  4. Set up an internal surveillance system.
  5. Harass citizens’ groups.
  6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release.
  7. Target key individuals.
  8. Control the press. (Wanting to charge journalists for treason)
  9. Treat all political dissidents to be traitors.
  10. Suspend the rule of law  (the way the latest Health Care act was forced through)

Do you see other examples of these steps being enforced in this country?  It’s happening here folks and it will only reverse if you stand up for your rights.

That is why we are at the stage now to demand the repeal of many unconstitutional laws that were pushed through in the current and last administration.  The litmus test should be if a president repeals the Patriot act as well as the acts that allow the US Government to arrest and detain you without due process, which is your right!

If a president doesn’t repeal these laws, then they should be out before their term is over, no questions asked.  My tests was that Obama did not repeal the Patriot act like he said he would do and based on that and other things, there is no indication that he will do it in a next term, so that is why I have to give my vote to Romney, and hold him very accountable!


It’s more important to stand for something than against something

It’s more important to stand for something than against something….  Why?  Because whatever you focus on you give power to, and will ultimately come into reality.  When you stand against something what are you thinking about?  That something that you are against.  So all of your energy and focus goes into the thing you don’t want to have in your life.  This concept works in any area in your life…. relationships, work situations, family, financial, health, etc.

There is a saying by Earl Nightengale that says “You get what you think about most of the time.”  Look back in your life at the times when you put a tremendous amount of thought and fear and worry about something?  How did it turn out? Did you end up experiencing some form of what you were worrying about?

It is a habit for us to focus our thoughts this way through socialization and culture.  However that creates more struggle and lack in our lives  and creates much more effort than we need to experience.

So if we were to use this concept in our daily lives,, wouldn’t it make sense to focus on what we want to create instead of what we don’t want to create?  If we focus on what we want to create, we can let providence step in and let the miracles unfold in how what we want comes about.

So way am I mentioning this and how does it apply to the election?

Well, if you take the Anti-Obama stance, then you are focusing all of your energy and thoughts on creating what you don’t want.  That was how Bush stayed in for another term.   There was so much anti-Bush sentiment, that all of that energy ended up going into keeping him in office.  The same thing goes on with the current administration.  If you don’t want a continuation of the current policies, then you have to focus on the what you want in the government.

That is why I am focusing on protecting the Constitution.  If it means the current administration suddenly gets a change of heart and they start doing that, then I’m all for it.  The reason why I am for Romney in this case is because the current administration has proven that it isn’t protecting the Constitution and doesn’t seem like it will in the future base on it’s current actions.  So I will speak with my vote and give Romney a chance.  If he begins to attack the Constitution, or not protect it, then I will focus on replacing him before his term is up.  It’s the President’s job to protect the Constitution and if Romney begins to play fast and loose with it, he needs to be replaced by someone else.  It’s that simple.

There are many things I could stand for.  So why do I pick the Constitution?  Because when you have a strong Constitution, as was done in the Civil Rights era, you can protect the rights of all citizens in our society because you have a solid foundation that you can call on to maintain your rights, which is what the Constitution is about.

We’re not voting for a political party, we’re voting for the Constitution

This election isn’t about Democrat or Republican, it’s about who is going to support and protect the Constitution.  When you think about it and look at it, this current administration and the previous administration were the same in terms of protecting the Constitution.  Neither of them did.  In fact they promoted weakening the Constitution and they are from different political parties.

With the way the news is presented, it is easy to get confused with details and points that really don’t matter.  What someone’s religion, race, views on things that don’t affect the country as a whole or the rights of the country as a whole aren’t as important as protecting the Constitution because with a strong Constitution, rights of those that have been left out in the past, have the Constitution behind them to gain those rights.

If the Constitution is weak and has not been upheld by the Government and ultimately the People, then no group that has been disenfranchised in some way has any support in receiving their rights.  A rising tide raises all ships, but if the water is all drained out, all ships are stranded and no one is going anywhere.  The Constitution was created to protect the citizens from an abusive Government.  It was meant to give the power to the people, and put the Government at the will of the people and not the other way around.  Remember, the Government is here it our will to serve Us, not to serve itself multinational corporations -who have no loyalty to this country and especially the Constitution btw, and special interest groups who don’t care who their policies may hurt.

That is why it is so important to take back this country and show our Government that if they are not willing to uphold the Constitution, then not only will they not get our vote, but they will be asked to resign.  Obama could have reversed the Patriot act within the 1st 2 years, like he said he was going to do, but he chose not to do it.  That was one of the reasons why I voted for him in the last election.  I didn’t forget that and I am holding him accountable for it, which is why he will not get my vote this November.

How does eliminating your constitutional rights keep you safe?

I first became very concerned about our constitutional rights and the government’s intentions when the Patriot act was passed.  That name in itself is meant to hide the true intentions of the act.   Patriot is “a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.”   The unconstitutional Patriot Act was in complete violation of our constitutional rights under the guise of “protecting us”.  Governments use fear to be able to pass laws that no sane population would pass in any other time.

This current administration got into office under the guise of eliminating the Patriot Act.  When the time came up, they did not eliminate it.  Obama did not keep his promise to the American people, and as a Constitutional lawyer, he should know how much the Patriot Act violates the constitution, it should have been one if his FIRST acts as president.  However since he did not do it in his current term, there is nothing that indicates to me that he will do it in the future.  He had his chance and he showed that he did not truly care about the American people.

In fact, not only did he not follow through on revoking the Patriot act, he further attacked the Constitution by removing people’s freedom on how they can handle their own health care.  The Government does not know better.  Just look at all of the drugs the FDA passed that ended up killing people.  That does not sound like a Government that was protecting your rights as a citizen, which is what a Government should do.

The Constitution is the only thing that will protect your rights as a citizen, and it is the Governments job to uphold the Constitution.  If a government has show that they are unwilling to protect the Constitution (Obama not revoking the Patriot Act for example, like he promised during his campaign), then it is our rights as citizens to vote in a Government that will protect our rights.  Weakening the Constitution to keep us safe from the “bad people out there” only further endangers us because we no longer have recourse to protect ourselves from other institutions.

When we let ourselves be ruled by fear, it can only end up in bad things.  We need to vote in a President who will keep their word when it comes to protecting the constitution and hold their feet to the fire when they don’t.  That’s why I’m voting for Romney and holding his feet to the fire in having him protect the Constitution.  The first thing is removing the Patriot Act. and the Health Care Act.


My Answer to an Email from Michelle Obama

This post was inspired by an email sent out by Michelle Obama in respect to raising funds for her husband. In it she stated that he was a good family man and a good leader and wouldn’t you like support his re-election….  This is what ensued…
I’m sure that most feel, as I once did when I voted for the president in 2008, that the president is doing all he can to lead this country because he SAYS he wants to make a difference.  However sometimes what we feel is making a difference in peoples lives is not the kind of difference that has positive lasting effects no matter how you cut the cookie.  I am talking about the policies that Obama has put into law that not only went against the will of the people and our constitutional rights, both on welfare and health reform. 
Setting the political aspects aside because they bury us in mumbo jumbo that even a rocket scientist has difficulty understand the confusion they create in words, these two examples have a focus on giving a man fish instead of teaching the man how to fish.  Sure, they feel good for the day, but then what?  They are hungry the next day, and they have to be fed AGAIN AND AGAIN because they don’t know how to fish.  Ultimately this drains on the community, on society, and especially on the spirit of that man or woman that is being devalued through not allowing them to gain the knowledge to learn how to fish and instead enslave them into being dependent. When you keep people dependent, or convince them to be dependent on you, and in this case the government, you take a bit of their spirit away each day.  Without that spirit of self worth, you ultimately have nothing, and you can’t give back to society.
Why do I share this?  Because of the latest welfare reforms that were pushed through that don’t teach people how to fish….
It doesn’t hold them accountable to receive welfare.  Removing work requirements and education means they won’t be taught how to be accountable to the community, and more importantly, themselves and their choices.
As an African-American woman, I’m surprised at the devastation that welfare has brought on the black community.  It is another form of slavery that was also experienced by the same community just over a century ago…. effects that still linger in the community because of patterns that were passed down from generation to generation. While the majority (62%) of the welfare recipients are not African American, welfare has become not a hand up, but a way of life to some portion of the African American community and no community, black white to green should experience the effects of this “mental” slavery because the spirit of self worth is taken away through it.
There is nothing more rewarding than experiencing the fruits of your labor.  To be able to say “I did that”  or “I created that”, and show your children how it was done and they can see that they can do it too.  Not only that, but how to do it bigger and better, thus striving
to learn more, have more and be more.  Seeing the difference between where you were and where you are now can be one of the most profound experiences someone can have.  That opportunity is not available to those that have learned the ”welfare lifestyle”, and
this latest reform just keeps them there.  
They will never get past the “Why do something if you don’t have to do anything to get it?’  They’ll never experience the strength in spirit and empowerment they develop when they create something on their own. They learn the  ability to not have to be dependent on anyone, or anything, especially the government.  That is worth much more than the monthly welfare checks a receives time after time again.  Imagine not having the contributions of Oprah to this society, if she had grown up with the welfare mindset.  There are more potential Oprahs out there that can contribute greatly to this country that are now, because of the July ’12 welfare reforms,  being groomed to never reach their potential.  That is a great loss that can never be measured or even balanced out.


All citizens must be given the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but that can’t happen if people are left to be dependent on the government.  What kind of leader leads the population into being disempowered?  Maybe you feel, as I once did,  that are current President  want’s to do what is best for the country, however creating a nation of disempowered citizens is certainly not what is best for the country and that is what I have seen over the last 4 years.
I did vote for the President in 2008 because I thought I heard the things that I am sharing with you in his platform.  However actions speak louder than words and I see that now, it was never in his REAL plan.  This is unfortunate because at this time, we need a leader that will lead the people to empower themselves and be all that they can be.  That is what made this country great.   Romney at this point is our only choice, at least from the point that he is not in a sprint to the finish line of removing the spirit of the AMerican people.  Even though some of his policies also require improvement, they don’t remove your spirit. If you still have your spirit, you have your ability to change things and put this country back on track.  Since I already know that Obama HAS NOT fulfilled his promises, nor does any of his NEW promises look like he will, he has lost my vote from him not fulfilling his word,  Romney now has my vote…

Choices… Life is Built Around Individual Choices. My vote this November!

This is a contribution by a friend of mine.  This is stated in a very strong way that isn’t as rambling as I can get at times!  LOL  Even though we have somewhat similar philosophies in regards to personal freedom, we come from completely different demographic groups (me: afro-american female gen x er who voted for Obama in 2008  her: boomer grandmother (barbie looks) who didn’t vote for Obama in 2008), neither one of us will not be voting for Obama this election.

In November 2012 We the People have a huge choice to make…  “who” do we choose as the individual to run our country, to protect its peoples’ freedoms…             to be our leader, to keep this county free, to be our…  President of The United States of America.

It all started when We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America… or did we forget this core somewhere along the way? Did we unknowingly let go of this foundation of individual freedoms for liberty and the pursuit of happiness that built this great nation? If we did… for what reason did we do this? Did we do this fully conscious of the consequence of what letting our “freedom to choose” go bit by bit and what it would mean to our nation or to us individually?  I think not!  Maybe it is time we wake up to this downfall and set individual personalities, color or creed aside… and remember what we should be voting for… the best individual, the ONE that will, without bias, uphold our Constitution, nothing more or nothing less.

Let’s exam what We the People are voting for and if we are honest about it, it may really come down to defending a certain party that we feel is better than another… skin tones or religious beliefs that, in reality have nothing to do with what we “should” be voting for. What we should be voting for is simple… will this individual without question live up to their vow when they take the oath of presidency and defend our way of life, hold firm to our constitution and uphold the power of the people to choose. What presidential candidate is in favor of restoring the Constitution or at best which candidate will cause the least destruction to its roots, the foundation that built this great nation… the core of freedom that grants the people these God Given rights that our Constitution protects. Will this individual vow to restore this nation to its greatest by returning to what rose it to greatest… our constitution?  YES OR NO!

We already know “who won’t” because that is the direction the current administration already took us… demanding that Obama Health Care be passed…. against the “will” of the people… and Obama’s welfare act… acting solely, and using his presidential power overrode in July 2012  the current Welfare Act that the people wanted.  These two actions by the current president went against the Constitutional Rights of the people to choose. Just these two presidential orders, forget about the others, these two alone created not only ever mounting debit for our country, it stripped away even more personal freedoms from We the People, under the illusion of being “taken care of” by the government. If we look to history as a teacher, then realize giving this power to the government only ends up as history teaches us…  ever mounting oppression of individual freedom. Oppression is what it is… it holds no favor to governmental parties, to color or creed it simply grows by griping the life, the spirit from an individual until one becomes or feels powerless to resist. 

Liberty is the right to choose, freedom is the result of that choice. Unknown 

Obama stripped this freedom from We the People… in just these two acts… are we going to continue this madness… yes or no?  There is nothing more to debate.    Are We the People going to let those we elect serve We the People by upholding our constitution or not?  I say YES… let We the People stand up and end the government controlling our lives! The government exists to protect NOT control.

I hope you can see how the spirit that this great nation was built on is slowly being rubbed away by taking on a philosophy that history has proven has destroyed other countries.  Will we allow this to happen to the United States of America?  YES OR NO!  Remember, what appears on the surface as a kind act is in actuality creating dependency on a government for the basic needs of life and happiness instead of instilling hope, and shaping self esteem in people. Obama’s placed into law policies both on health and welfare that slowly removes the spirit of those individuals by degrading their spirit because it gets them to “fear’ that without the governments help they can’t survive, therefore creating a false NEED to be taken care of by the government.  They will never really be able to create through the joy of discovering their abilities and talents. How many gifts is this society being robbed of because people aren’t encouraged to flourish by using their gifts?  How many more gifts are being snuffed out because this legacy is passed on generation after generation? Isn’t inspiration the soul that built this country… allowing the gifts of each human being to be encouraged not stuffed.

Sovereign rule is possessing supreme or ultimate power: in modern democracies the people’s will is in theory sovereign. OR has it reversed itself where America has taken on a philosophy that destroys instead of build like the founding Fathers of this country put into place when they established our freedoms through the Constitution for the United States of America? Remember, practically the entire country “voted against” Obama Health Care… a program, that when you looked closely at its basic core strips the individual rights from the people to choose… all people not just the wealthy, the middle class and poor will eventually suffer the same consequence when the “right to choose” is taken away, as it has been under Obama Health Care. Yet, here we are with a President that went against the will of the people and had “his way” by forcing his health care into law. This is NOT what our great nation was built on and it is time the people looked deeper at what is happening, become informed… honestly… not through political or religious differences or covering up the real issue with decoys that defuse the truth of what is happening… Americans losing their freedoms through more and more government control.  Remember, what you willingly give away is much harder to retrieve because you gave away  through you will your “freedom to choose”.

This is the effects of more and more government involvement in peoples lives… the effects of government control creates control over its people.  An example of this is the latest fraud against individual freedom for the right to pursue happiness when Obama reversed Welfare “right to work act” in July 2012.  He repealed the education/work requirements of those who receive welfare, so now those who do receive welfare don’t have work or receive education to empower themselves to be self sufficient.  This act does not help those recipients, it in truth harms them because the welfare recipients lost valuable training and incentives to be self-sufficient and grow an inner feeling or deep pleasure of satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired: and instead forced them to rely on the government which only keeps one trapped in subservient mindsets while ever mounting debt that has now reach the trillions under Obama’s resgime.

I trust We the People will look more closely at the truth of where our county is “today”…  what has weaken us from being a world leader to a nation that is trillions of dollars in debt due to a “give away for nothing” philosophy, and by allowing our government to control our choices in the illusion giving this control to the government will keep us safe…  or getting caught in the illusion that security comes from being “taken care” of by…  the government… this kind of philosophy has eroded this nation from being a great leader. Please AMERICA look closely at the give away and take care of philosophy what is decaying the very heart and core of this nation’s foundation and strength.

We as a nation can either choose to slowly lose our personal and national empowerment through a continual decay of our Constitutional rights, or we can chose to stem the advancing tide of continuous disempowering decay. I’m voting for Romney, not because he is a Republican, because I am a registered Democrat, also I am not shying away from voting for him because his religious beliefs are different from mine, I am voting for him because “he” is “now” the better and “only” other choice we have to turn this slippery side of crumbling our great nation around. What will you do to “protect your freedom to choose”? What will you do to protect this country’s Constitution?

Don’t “close your eyes” to what is happening because you don’t want to get involved?  VOTE THIS NOVEMBER.  Forget about the party, color or creed of the individual… vote for the person that vows to uphold the freedoms our constitution granted each and every man, women and child?  VOTE for… Romney.

The difference between selfishness and self interest

This is about the difference between selfishness and self interest and how it relates to the current political election.

Let’s face it, we all act from our own self interest.  There is nothing wrong with that, it is how we are wired and how we are meant to make our way through this world.  When we are acting in our self interests unconditionally (without judgement) and responsibly (being accountable for our choices, words and actions), we aren’t harming others.  In fact decisions made from that mentality are in the highest interest of others as well.

Acting in our own self interest, and being able to do so through true choice (because you have everything you need to make that choice) allows us to express ourselves as who we are and be in the joy of who we are.  It has been scientifically proven that our moods affect others.  So acting in our own self interest has an empowering effect on others because we are in the joy of what we are living.  That empowering effect spreads outwards and affects others as well.

When we act from selfishness.  We are acting through fear (fear there is not enough, it’s too difficult, too much, don’t know how, etc.)  This is the opposite side of the coin, and on this side of the coin, selfishness has a disempowering effect on yourself and eventually others.

So how does this relate to the current election?

It’s the ability to be able to act in our own self interests.  That is the basis for the Constitution.  It gives us the ability to make choices, and be responsible for those choices.  If we aren’t allowed to be responsible for those choices, then how well we know if we need to choose differently?  Let’s take the recent passage of the health care act.  That removes people’s choice to get the kind of health care they best see fit for themselves.  Requiring to buy health insurance means that you now have to put your money into a system that may not approve of your choices to maintain your health, and is removing your responsibility for taking care of yourself.  This was the only country in the world that truly allowed people the ability to exercise their free will and a society that supports people in experiencing the results of their choices.  What a great loss if that ability is taken away.

Ask yourself which candidate will have a greater effect in removing our ability to experience the results of our choices?  Look at it from the big picture standpoint and don’t focus on the smaller issues that probably won’t get passed.  Focus on where the past decisions are taking this country to.

The real question to ask yourself for this years presidential election

When looking at the presidential candidates this year, you want to ask yourself this question…  Which candidate is most in favor of restoring the Constitution?  Actually the real question should be “Which candidate will cause the least destruction to the Constitution?”

When I mean Constitution, I am talking about the spirit of the Constitution.  That spirit is the right of everyone to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  However, you can pursue happiness, or have life and liberty if you are not able to make clear choices because you don’t have all of the information, or you have no spirit to make those choices.

Our spirit is slowly being rubbed away by the current and past administration.  What keeps us strong in spirit is our ability to be accountable to ourselves and for our choices.  When we are not made accountable for our choices, we lose the ability to truly be able to choose.

An example of this is the latest Welfare act of the current administration.  They have repealed the requirements of those who receive welfare, so now that those who do receive welfare, don’t have work or education requirements.  This act does not help those recipients, but it harms them because the welfare recipients are not being trained to be able to make more empowering choices that allow them to rely on themselves and not have to rely on the government.

This policy slowly removes the spirit of those that are on welfare, because they will never really be able to create through the joy of their talents.  Why exercise your skill and talents when you are given a check for doing nothing every month?  How many gifts is this society being robbed of because people aren’t encouraged to flourish by using their gifts?  How many more gifts are being snuffed out because this legacy is passed onto the next generation?

Recent Supreme Court Ruling on the Obama Health Care Act

Well, the supreme court ruled that the Obama Health Care Act was constitutional.  I don’t like the Gov’t telling me how I should spend my money.  Not only that, but here is what it really means….

A REALLY BIG HEADS UP:  It’s amazing what’s in Obamacare.  I was shocked at the many hidden “taxes” and non-health related items that encompass Obama’s “not so healthy for our nation and its people” plan hidden in Obamacare.  So much is concealed and kept in confusion using words to prevent anyone from fully understanding the truth because it is cleverly kept out of sight… which is why it “MUST be repealed”.

Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% Sales Tax. If you own a home or plan to, this is vital to know.  If you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8% sales tax on it?  That’s $3,800 on a $100,000 home, If you sell a $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax… and so on.  Although the National Association of REALTORS is all over this and working to get it repealed,  before it takes effect… “we the people” must also do our share because Obamacare is NOT WHAT IT APPEARS  to be and therefore comes under a deceptive political ploy… making it appear great to those who “WISH TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE GOVERNMENT” instead of being responsible for their own life. Obama’s plan diverts billions of dollars / earned money due to the home owners NOT the Government… yet unsuspecting homeowners will end up paying dearly. This bill also hits hard to the retiring generation who often wants to downsize their homes.  When did this happen? It’s in the health care bill that Obama forced through… without popular vote… and goes into effect in 2013.  Why 2013?  Could it be because it is AFTER the 2012 elections?  

If you weren’t aware this was in the Obamacare bill?  Guess what,  you aren’t alone.  There are more than a few members of Congress that aren’t aware of it either, yet going to this site you can become aware. < http://www.gop.gov/blog/10/04/08/obamacare-flatlines-obamacare-taxes-home>

Look carefully at the 2014 Social Security Rate. EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THIS, NOT ONLY SENIORS, like myself.   Look carefully at the 2014 rate compared to the 2013, 2012 and 2011. For those of you who are on Medicare what Obama forced through is shocking. The per person Medicare Insurance Premium will increase from the present Monthly Fee of $96.40, rising to: $104.20 in 2012 – $120.20 in 2013 And – $247.00 in 2014.” When an individual is living on a fixed income… these “changes” are huge and can greatly effect the quality of ones life.

These, and other, provisions are incorporated in the Obamacare Legislation, and delayed until after the 2012 Re-Election Campaigns.

Another interesting point: Did you “notice” who Obama threatened when he wasn’t getting his way on raising the debt ceiling? He threatened to not pay:  Social Security Retirees, Military Retirees, Social Security disability and Federal Retirees.

On the other side of the coin… 

He did not threaten to stop payments to illegal aliens.
He did not threatened to take frivolous benefits such as Internet access away from violent inmates.
He did not offer to fire some of the thousands of unnecessary federal employees that he hired.
He did not offer to cut down on his or his wife’s unnecessary activities the come from our tax dollars where these expenses could easily be paid pay out of his salary.
He did not threaten to not pay the senators and representatives or any of their staff for over spending.
He did not threaten to take benefits away from welfare recipients.
He did not threaten the food stamp programs.
He did not threaten to not pay foreign aid.
He did not threaten to cut back on anything that involves his base voters. 

The list could go on and on. He is in full political re-election mode!
Why are we allowing this person to destroy this wonderful country? His type of “change” is killing our country, our freedoms and the way of life we have enjoyed due to our forefathers establishing a sound foundation through our Constitution and Bill Of Rights that… step by step Obama is destroying.

He needs to be stopped and Our Votes Can Stop Him.

Since President Obama took office the national debt has increased by $3.7 trillion. Only by permanently turning off the “leaking faucet” of federal spending can we truly stop the flood and save our children and grandchildren from drowning in a sea of debt they did not create.
Instead of expanding the size of government or raising taxes, Republicans in Washington are committed to a pro-growth economic agenda that will put America back to work and paying their own way instead of relaying on the government to take care of them.

I have been a registered Democrat for years… yet being a Democrat doesn’t mean I should turn a bind eye away from the truth come election 2012… and I won’t… I am changing my registration to undecided and instead I will vote for the “strength” within the individual running for the Presidency that will, without exception, uphold our constitutional rights.

 There are thousands of real people impacted by this policy. One in particular is restaurant owner Ben Pumo from Land O’ Lakes, Fl. who I’m familiar with. Pumo’s of Benedetto’s Ristorante Italiano states to the Orlando Sentential how policies like Obamacare would impact his business and employees he had come to see as family.

   Obamacare would impose new costs on his business, it would be a blow to his freedom to hire workers as he pleased without triggering new taxes, and he feared the worst was yet to come as Obamacare had empowered Washington bureaucrats to write new and unpredictable regulations.

   With the recent decision on Obamacare, we were reminded of why this news matters far beyond the Supreme Court’s steps. It matters in kitchens like the one in Ben Pumo’s restaurant and for individuals and business owners across the country.

    Obamacare is not the president’s signature achievement. It’s the signature example of the leadership failures and broken promises that have defined Obama‘s presidency.

    When the president assumed office, he faced the worst economy in generations. After throwing an $800 billion stimulus at the problem, he proposed a health-care overhaul with a mandate to force people to buy health insurance. Or else.

    He assured the American people that the individual mandate wasn’t a tax. But when Obamacare was challenged in court for violating the Constitution, he changed his tune, arguing that it was permissible under Congress’ taxing power. The court agreed and upheld Obamacare.

    The bait and switch proved to be a brilliant legal strategy, but a disastrous economic policy. For millions of Americans, including job creators, Obama’s political win is now an IRS problem for them in the real world.

    Obamacare is bad policy that adds around $800 billion of taxes on the American people. It does not discriminate between rich and poor. It hurts everyone.

    It is a job-killer that will drive up insurance premiums and jeopardize the ability of millions of Americans to keep the insurance coverage of their choice. For individuals not complying with Obamacare, it means the IRS will come calling if they fail to pay the Obamacare tax.

    For job creators — and unemployed workers relying on them to work again — Obamacare is a new regulatory maze to figure out. For instance, once a business reaches 50 full-time employees, the Obamacare tax will kick in to the tune of $2,000 for each full-time employee in excess of 30 full-time employees unless the business meets a mandate to provide health coverage for them. There are no penalties if part-time employees are not offered coverage.

    Thus, rather than freely being able to hire employees without fear of an IRS problem, employers will be encouraged to circumvent the Obamacare tax by hiring people on a part-time basis so they don’t count for this tax. Or maybe an entrepreneur has 49 employees and could use several more to help meet increased demand. Obamacare creates a perverse incentive to hold back and just make existing employees work more so the 50-employee threshold tax isn’t triggered.

    These concerns are less pressing for larger enterprises, which have effectively made the case that this law is so bad for business that they need relief from it. With a straight face, the administration has actually agreed, as it has handed out 1,231 waivers. Once again we see how, while big businesses don’t like big government, they have the means to live with it in a way that small businesses can’t.

    I hoped the Supreme Court would see the fatal constitutional flaws of this policy and strike it down. It did not, but its ruling did note one very important fact: The future of the program is “entrusted to our nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them.”

    The ultimate fate of Obamacare is thus not in the hands of politicians, the courts, or this president. The voters will decide the final outcome of this fight on Nov. 6.

    President Obama will keep Obamacare. Gov. Romney will repeal it and replace it with market-based reforms that empower individuals to get health insurance without having the IRS chasing them down if they don’t. Never has a choice been more clear. Never have the differences in two candidates been so stark….
